All Canadel surfaces are covered with a baked-on Catalyzed Lacquer protection. This Lacquer is highly resistant to marking, scratching and staining. It combines the transparency of lacquer with the stability and the durability of a catalyzed varnish, and is applied to every surface your customer will use. Rule of thumb: If the customer can eat, drink or digest a food product, it may safely be left on a Canadel product for up to 24 hours! This benefits is very important for families and people who plan on using their Canadel dining everyday!

Our tables are custom built with Solid Birch, however they are still wood. For everyday use, we recommend placemats, trivets, and table pads to protect against scratches, dings or dents.

A few basic steps are all it takes to protect your furniture and keep your new investment looking as beautiful as it did the day you bought it.

  • For your comfort and for the protection of your furniture, use a humidifier or air conditioner to keep your home's relative humidity between 30 and 40%.
  • Avoid dragging hardwood furniture when moving it Store table leaves as close as possible to the table itself. It's better to store dining room table leaves in an upstairs closet than in a damp basement.
  • Avoid placing furniture directly in front of radiators, heating vents or wood burning stoves.
  • Immediately wipe away any liquid that spills on the table top.
  • Avoid using window cleaners, as they contain ammonia, which attacks the furniture's lacquer finish.
  • To protect your furniture's finish, avoid exposing it to direct sunlight on a daily basis.
  • All Corian® leaves should be stored Corian® side down, not standing up.
